In short

Who is responsible

PLEON, of 6 Zalokosta Street, 10671, Athens, Greece, is the controller of the personal data described here. That means we are the ones who decide what is collected and why, and the ones you can hold to account for it. Any question about this page, or any request under it, can go to the address at the foot of the page and will reach the person who deals with it.

What we hold, and why

WhatWhy we have itHow long
Your name and email address, if you fill in the sign-up formSo that we can send you the occasional note the form invites you to receive. Nothing else.Until you ask us to stop
Whatever you write in an email, or tell us on the telephoneTo answer you, and to keep a record of what was discussed or agreed. While we are in touch, and afterwards for as long as our records and the law require
Your answer to the cookie noticeSo the site remembers what you allowed and does not ask again on every page.12 months
Routine server records: the network address a request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s own description of itselfWritten automatically by the web server. They are what make it possible to run the site, find faults, and see off abuse.A short period, as part of our hosting provider’s ordinary housekeeping

That is the whole of it. We ask for nothing else, and there is no form on this site that asks you for anything beyond a name and an email address.

On what basis

The law wants us to say why we are allowed to hold each of these. Your name and email address for the sign-up rest on your consent, given when you fill the form in and withdrawn the moment you ask. What you send us in an email or say on the telephone we hold because we have a legitimate interest in answering you properly, and because it may be needed to take a piece of work forward. The server records rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure. Your cookie answer we are obliged to keep, because the law requires us to be able to show what you agreed to.

What we do not do

Where it is kept, and who else sees it

The site and everything it holds sit on a server in Athens, Greece, and therefore within the European Union. Nothing is transferred outside the European Economic Area. If that ever has to change, this page will say so first, and say what protects the data at the other end.

The only party other than ourselves with any access is the company that hosts the server, and only to the extent that running and backing up a server requires it. They act on our instructions and may not use anything for their own purposes. Within PLEON, your details are seen by the people who need them to answer you.

Cookies

Until you answer the cookie notice this site stores nothing on your device at all, and the only cookies it then sets are the ones that record your answer. At the time of writing there is no analytics on this site, so nothing is measuring you. Our Cookie Policy names every cookie, says how long each lasts, and explains how to change your answer whenever you like.

What you can ask us to do

The law gives you a set of rights over your own data, and you do not need a reason or a particular form of words to use them. You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you; to correct it if it is wrong; to delete it; to stop or limit what we are doing with it; to object to our relying on legitimate interest; or to hand it to you in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful.

Write to the address below and we will answer within one month. There is no charge. If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you are entitled to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, at www.dpa.gr, or to the supervisory authority of the country you live in.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, so what you type on it cannot be read in transit. Access to the server and to anything you have sent us is limited to the people who need it. No arrangement is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but the less that is collected the less there is to lose, which is part of why this page is as short as it is.

Changes to this policy

If the site begins collecting something new, or using what it has for a new purpose, this page is updated before that starts. Where the change is one that needs your agreement, you will be asked for it rather than presumed to have given it. The date at the top tells you when this page last changed.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you would like to exercise any of the rights above, please write to us.
